I Can Do All Things Through Him

Have you ever thought about the magnitude of God’s anointing upon His children? We often do not understand the power of the Holy Spirit that is working through us. Its the same power that raised Jesus from the grave…Its the same spirit that seated Him in the Heavenly places…Its the same power that gave Him the authority and power over all the dominion and principalities. Its the same spirit that worked in us when we first accepted Jesus Christ. This is the same Holy Spirit which raised us from dead when we were still sinners and seated us along with Jesus in heavenly places. But when it comes to dealing with the temptations and the troubles of this world…we say “I am weak”.

The other day, I was reading the book of Luke and in chapter 4 we read how Jesus was tempted in the wilderness. If you look  at the first verse of that chapter, you’ll read as follows..”Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness”

Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit when He left Jordan and He had the guidance of the Holy Spirit to go to the wilderness. What happened in Jordan that He received the anointing of the Holy Spirit? We all know that at Jordan, Jesus took the water baptism and the heavens were opened and the Holy Spirit was descended upon Him and there was a public announcement of God’s acceptance.

Jesus Christ, being the son of God, when showed an act of obedience…heaven itself was pleased in Him and the anointing of the Holy Ghost came upon Him. If Jesus obeyed the Almighty God, how much more is expected from you and me..Bible says that obedience is better than sacrifice. Even the smallest act of obedience from our part will not go unnoticed by heaven. When you and me obey the will of God, we receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit and also the confirmations about our acceptance as the children of God.

This Holy Spirit that dwelt in Jesus Christ at the river of Jordan did not leave Him there.  He accompanied Him from Jordan to the wilderness. There at the wilderness, when Jesus chose to be in the presence of God, fasting and praying..and being in constant communion with God…He was not left alone…All those times when Satan tempted Him…He was there as the encouraging Word. In verse 14, we read..Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit. That was the beginning of His ministry.

Dear child of God…you serve a God who watches you very carefully. Every little act of obedience will not go unnoticed. He will fill you with His presence and assure your place in Him. You’ll experience Him not only on the banks of Jordan…but also in your wilderness experiences. When you decide to be with Him…fasting and will find strength in His word to fight the temptations of the enemy. When you come out of it…you’ll be empowered by His spirit and that will be the beginning of a ministry. Miracles are meant to happen through you…by the power of the Holy Spirit…You will witness many healings through this Holy Spirit that works in you…Many prophecies will be fulfilled…Restoration will happen…many captives will be set free…Jesus has done all these while He was in this earth..and you and me are given the same spirit..Everything is possible through us because of Him who is in us…but only if you believe.

God Bless,

Rani John
