Be Still And Know That I Am God

Yesterday, at church while singing the song ‘Still’ by Hillsong, the verse ‘Be still and know that I am God’ kept on ringing in my mind. Lyrics of that song has great power and has always encouraged me whenever I feel distressed.

While worshipping, Holy Spirit helped me to understand the meaning of being still before the Lord. He said, “Its just like the way your child sleeps in your arms…not worrying about her tomorrows..She does not know whether she’ll be fed when she is hungry…she do not have to worry about explaining to you that she needs milk…she just knows..or she simply does not know much…Knowingly or unknowingly, she just trusts your motherly instincts..and not a single meal is missed isn’t it??. Being Still is to be just like that child.”

Today I understood that being still is to acknowledge that you cannot do anything about that storm that you are so worried about…and to recognize this God who is able to do anything and everything for you. When you are still, you no longer think about solutions…ways to achieve your answer…you simply trust in the Almighty God.

Being still is not giving up hope in yourself…its just putting your hope in Christ alone. Today, are you fidgeting in the hands of your Creator…Just relax…Give Him full control and rest like a child..Only when you are still, you ‘ll know the presence of this mighty God..So experience it today by being still.

Enjoy this song…

God Bless,

Rani John
