God’s Plans Of Repayment For You

While you are in the waiting season, longing for His promise to be fulfilled, have you come across days in which you think that all this waiting is of no use and you  have wasted the prime days of your life just holding onto that promise? Let me encourage you with this thought…When God fulfills His promise at His perfect right time, He will do everything so beautiful that whatever you think you have lost in the past days will be re-paid completely and fully. Do you still doubt?

Bible proves that to us with a great example. Please read with me Isaiah 38. There we see King Hezekiah in his death bed. There were not much options before him. He even received a word from the Lord through prophet Isaiah “Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."

Do you think that man can change the thoughts and decisions of God? Yes…God revokes His plans in response to earnest prayers of His people. God had plans of destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, but in response to Abraham’s intercession, He spared the lives of Lot’s family. God did the same with King Hezekiah. When he heard the decision of the Lord with his life, he turned his face to the wall and cried to the Lord, "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

God could not ignore his cry and continue with His decision. He asked the prophet to go to Hezekiah and tell him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.’This is the LORD’s sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.’ " So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.

God did do the impossible for King Hezekiah. In those days, time was measured by the shadow it creates, and the sun went back ten steps to add those 15 years to his life. One thing that amazed me was the courage of King Hezekiah to tell His creator with boldness about his faithful walk, wholehearted devotion and good deeds before God. Only a person who is confident about his life, can say those words to God, our creator.

If God could change the laws of nature to add 15 more years to his life, then do you believe that He will repay you for all those years you think you have lost…all those better opportunities you missed, all those wonderful resources you wished you had, all those days of peace you longed so much, all those moments of love and joy that you never enjoyed…He is able to replace everything for you…He is ready to change His decision for you…but only if you take the courage to cry before Him bitterly and open up to Him about all those shortcomings and also remind Him about your good deeds. He is ready to change the laws of nature, the rules of your country, the hearts of people, the condition of your family….and fulfill your life with everything you have longed.

God Bless,
